I was very worried about finding the right place for my 84 year old uncle/surrogate father who now suffers from moderate dementia. After visiting numerous assisted care facilities all over North Jersey, Horizon Manor turned out to be the perfect home for my uncle. It has only 18 residents in a beautiful, quaint, country inn like setting. Unlike the institutional feel and smell of others, it offers a very cozy and home-like setting with a dedicated staff that provides first-rate service with medication, bathing, dressing, meals and laundry 7 days a week.

I was shocked to visit a few other expensive facilities that had urine odors and delighted to report Horizon Manor is immaculately clean every time I visit with no odors. They offer a very personal level of care that makes my uncle very comfortable. I know he would not get this level of care in some of the other larger facilities I visited with many more residents where he would be treated more like a number. Horizon Manor has put a smile back on my face and relieved my stress and worry, knowing my uncle is in a great place, getting a wonderful level of care at an affordable price. I would highly recommend this home to anyone in need.

Horizon Manor South is an exceptional facility. The care my father has been receiving since moving in a year and a half ago is extraordinary. The owners Carol and Keith are wonderful, caring people. And the staff, many of whom have been there for years, treat my father with dignity and love every single day. The place is clean and well-kept and the staff is friendly, cheerful and professional.

If you are looking for a large facility, with many residents and lots of activities, this is not it. But if want a comfortable home, this is the place. My father was not in great condition physically and mentally when he first moved in. Now, at age 89, he is cheerful, healthy and filled with vigor because of the dedicated care he receives. When he has had minor health issues, the staff has cared for him calmly and professionally. And every day he receives love and affection.

My sisters and I were filled with fear when we had to make this decision, and I looked at a number of places. They all seemed well appointed. But the people at Horizon Manor drew me in right away. I visit my father every morning, and I have to say that his life is far better than I could ever have imagined.

My mother has been at Horizon Manor for 5 1/2 years now. I am so happy to have found this special place which really does feel like home for her. I like it because it doesn’t have the institutional feel of larger assisted living residences – it is much more intimate with fewer residents, with a B&B feel. I also like that it is a flat, all-inclusive rate that helps tremendously with long term financial planning. Most/many staff members have been there long term as well.

Horizon Manor is a truly wonderful establishment for my mom, who has been there for 3 years. She receives loving care from all the staff, including owners Carol and her son, Keith. The food is very good and well prepared and the surroundings are warm and comfortable. They have activities for the “guests” that they all enjoy. I try to visit my mom several times a week and she is always happy and well cared for. Truly a godsend for myself and my family.

My sister and I are blessed to have found the caring staff at Horizon Manor North to care for my brother. He has been at Horizon Manor North for 13 years and from the very first day the warm and caring staff have been incredible in making him feel welcome in his new home. Every staff member from the owner (Mrs. C) administrator (Keith), nursing, housekeeping, dining and maintenance staff… and I could go on and on always has a smile on and is anxious to help in any way they can. The staff keeps us informed and makes family members feel welcome. I stop by often and am never disappointed with the care he receives. It is so nice to know that we don’t have to worry about my brother… we know he is in good hands at Horizon Manor North.
